10 years of making music together, TALAWA reggae army are preparing themselves for the release of their highly anticipated second album, “Reggae Revival”.
In the making of this second album, the well-known and internationally celebrated Costa Rican based reggae super group, explores sounds from the 70’s. Recording the entire album with the finest vintage equipment, just like many Jamaican artists, like the legendary Bob Marley did back in the day.
The use of vintage equipment doesn’t mean however that the album will have an old studio sound. Music with a message, this “roots reggae” sound blends both classic and modern ways to achieve the final warm and sweet but potent and unique sound. Playing instruments and using technics from that golden age of reggae music, with up-to-date mixing and mastering.
This new album is a collection of songs, 3 years in the making that brought plenty of people together to create. The list of internationally renowned reggae recording artists that joined Talawa and that are featured on this project is nothing short of impressive.
Fitzroy "Dave Primetime" Green on drums, Rica Newell, Patko, Dax Lion and Stevie Lightning from Rootz Underground all made big talent contributions to this new album.
Mixed and mastered in Kingston, Jamaica and recoded in several studios in Costa Rica, USA, Jamaica and France. Reggae Revival promises to be an extraordinary sequel to Talawa’s first album and "Best Reggae Album" nominee "Inity"!
